CLASSES Sunday - 10.00am-12.00noon Vane Tempest Hall, Maynard's Row, Gilesgate, Co Durham DH1 1QF. www.vanetempesthall.org.uk/

Founded in 1996 by Bill Lowery, The Laban Baston Eskrima club teaches Doce Pares Eskrima and MKG Kali. Bill is also the European Representative for the San Miguel Latigo (Bullwhip) sub-system under GM Andres Canete.

Doce Pares Eskrima: Founded in 1932 by a group of Eskrima Masters headed by Eulogio Cañete, Lorenzo Saavedra and Teodoro Saavedra.

Doce Pares is an umbrella organisation, involving systems which cover Corto (close range); Medio (medium range) and Largo Mano (long range) fighting systems.

Jimi McAvoys Blind Princess Escrima is a close range system based on Cabales Serrada Escrima, a system often likened to Wing Chun as it is cut back to basic techniques and is aimed at street self defence.

San Miguel Latigo is the sub-system of the San Miguel Eskrima System (one of the founding systems of the Doce Pares System), covering the Filipino Bullwhip.

It is with great pleasure that I can now announce my Associate Instructorship in MKG under Sifu Rick Faye, as of 10th July 2016.

Further the club is now Associated with Eskrima Carin Europe, under Robby de Hondt. Looking forwards to continuing to provide Doce Pares Eskrima to the North of England.
